If you were thinking of getting the recently released Dell Mini 10 netbook, you might want to hold your horses. After all, Dell will not allow you to upgrade its RAM to more than the 1GB they give you whether you’re going to run on Windows XP as per Microsoft licensing rules. that blows, but good thing there is that thing called manual upgrades, right? Dell Chief Blogger Lionel Menchaca wrote “Initially, all Mini 10s will come with 1GB fixed RAM (which means it will not be upgradable).” – no concept on when that will be corrected, but it is a serious blow to users who find the Dell Mini netbooks to be one of the better ones out there.
