Good thing there are never ample ways to turn green, with the latest among them a diesel-electric hybrid bus courtesy of e-Tractioon from Netherlands which is touted to come with 50% better fuel economy by the existing fleet of diesel buses. In addition, that vehicle will feature a GPS-base dsystem which helps switch off the diesel engine entirely when it is operating within areas that have insane traffic in order to further reduce emissions. So far, e-Traction has been awarded contracts to retrofit up to seven commercial buses with that technology, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that that will branch out to rubbish trucks eventually.
