Hitachi wants to give the LCD camp another boost by improving on LCDs with the new mini LCD displays that are able to offer an unprecedented 960 x 540 resolution, outperforming virtually every other display on the market at press moment. Just in case you think that the iPhone 3G’s display is gorgeous, bear in mind that model maxes out at just 480 x 320 resolution. Hitachi hopes that with better displays on mobile devices, that will move more society to enjoy the World Wide Web and TV on their cellphones instead of on other hardware. Chances are pretty good that these new high resolution mini LCD displays will hit the Japanese market first sometime next year, followed by the rest of the world.
